Kategora and Kora Living Receive Award for Best Temporary Housing Strategy

The Basque company has been awarded for its strategy in innovation and marketing 'One day, one month, one year'

The Basque developer, Kategora Real Estate, and its hotel management company, Kora Living, were awarded the Best Temporary Accommodation Strategy Award on February 25 at the prestigious Living Summit 2025 event, organized by the Association of Shared Real Estate Spaces COWORD.

This recognition, granted by COWORD's Board of Directors, highlights the innovation and marketing efforts of the company's "One day, one month, one year" strategy, a pioneering proposal offering accommodation solutions for short and medium stays. Through its three lines—Beach, Flex, and Urban—Kategora and Kora Living have managed to create spaces adapted to different user profiles, from temporary tourists or digital nomads seeking connectivity and community to displaced workers or students who require versatile and well-located accommodation solutions.

An example of this is Kora Green City in Vitoria-Gasteiz, the largest capacity Passivhaus accommodation in Europe and one of the most efficient in the world, combining sustainability and technology in its daily operations, offering stays ranging from one night to several months. Its multifunctional common spaces allow the same room to be a coworking space in the morning and a venue for social events at night. Meanwhile, Kora Nivaria Beach, the complex located on the beachfront in Tenerife, responds to the growing tourist demand for accommodations that integrate comfort and rest with local identity, offering personalized experiences in a privileged natural environment.

The award ceremony was held on February 25 at the COAM in Madrid, as part of the second edition of the Living Summit, a key meeting in the flex living sector that brought together prominent institutions and leading companies to analyze the present and future of the sector. During the ceremony, Araceli Martín-Navarro, founder and president of COWORD, and Carolina Roca, president of ASPRIMA and co-president of the Living Summit, highlighted the importance of innovation in accommodation models and Kora Living's contribution in this area.

Roke Ramos, Operations Director of Kora Living, was responsible for collecting the award on behalf of the Basque company. During his speech, he wanted to emphasize that "this award underscores the commitment and shared vision between Kategora and Kora Living." He added: "We continue to bet on an accommodation model that combines flexibility, sustainability, community, and adaptability. The complexes not only integrate with the destinations where we operate but also adapt to new ways of traveling, offering authentic experiences that connect with the local community."

The business model of both companies seeks to optimize profitability and space usage while promoting real integration with the destination. From hiring local talent to designing authentic activities and experiences, each project aims to connect tourists and residents with the environment, generating a positive impact on the community.
