The images that sparked speculation

Charles III's public appearance during the state visit of French president Emmanuel Macron to the United Kingdom caused surprise when the monarch was photographed with a noticeably red eye. This immediately caused speculation about his physical well-being, especially given his well-known battle with cancer.

Some even suggested that this eye condition could be related to the treatment he is receiving for his illness. However, Buckingham Palace was clear when they spoke about the matter.

The Royal Household issued a statement clarifying that Charles III's eye problem has nothing to do with the cancer he is facing. It was simply "a burst blood vessel in the right eye," a common and benign condition. As the Royal Household explains, this type of subconjunctival hemorrhage "doesn't require treatment" and "completely disappears in about 10 days."

A common phenomenon with no medical concerns

Experts explain that this type of eye hemorrhage is not rare. It occurs when a blood vessel under the membrane covering the white part of the eye breaks, resulting in a red spot. Although it may seem alarming at first glance, there are no reasons for concern, and it usually solves on its own without the need for medical intervention.

Therefore, the British royal family has done everything possible to reassure their followers. They have reiterated that King Charles III is in good health and that this eye incident doesn't pose a danger.
