A Military Path with History and Discipline

Prince Christian, 19 years old, has completed a demanding mandatory military journey with the Royal Life Guards Hussar Regiment in Slagelse, marking a milestone in his military training. Mary of Denmark and Frederik provided information: "in relation to his military service in the Royal Life Guards Hussar Regiment." "The crown prince has also been accepted into the lieutenant training course."

This course will begin in August 2025 and will last one year, followed by a practical period as a platoon leader. Christian follows in the footsteps of his father, King Frederik, who also had a military career before his reign.

This tradition of training in the Armed Forces is common among European heirs. Similarly, Princess Leonor of Spain and Princess Elisabeth of Belgium are completing their military training.

Experiences That Transform and Strengthen

Before this military challenge, Christian lived an experience that defined his worldview during three months in East Africa. During that time, he worked in the daily management of two farms and collaborated in environmental conservation. "I've been in Africa for almost three months, everyday life down here is something completely different than at home," the prince himself recounted.

In his words, Africa's cultural and natural diversity offered him an unforgettable lesson. "I've been working with nature preservation, supervising and recording animals in the bush and taking care of the farm office," he added. Additionally, he had direct contact with the local wildlife, even participating in replacing GPS collars on anesthetized wild animals.

Christian not only dedicated himself to his tasks but also shared moments of camaraderie with the local inhabitants, playing soccer matches and learning from his surroundings. Before returning to Denmark, he expressed his excitement for his family: "Now I'm also waiting to return to Denmark, home with the family and celebrate Christmas in a few weeks."

This set of experiences, both in the field and in the military, prepares Prince Christian to face his future with a deep commitment. Denmark watches with pride the growth of its heir, convinced that he is ready to assume the role that corresponds to him.
