Calvià, on the southwest coast of Mallorca, has stood out at Fitur 2025 as a model of sustainable and high-quality tourism. Within the framework of the 45th edition of Fitur, the mayor, Juan Antonio Amengual, presented a positive balance of the latest advances in the municipality. With a clear focus on sustainability and quality, Calvià has oriented itself toward a more balanced tourism model.
This change has been reflected in the reduction of seasonality. With a 20% increase in the number of hotel beds available during the low season, reaching 3,331 beds for the winter of 2024-2025.
One of the key commitments of the municipality is the expansion of quality gastronomic offerings. Grupo Pajarita will open two new restaurants in Palmanova, on the front line of Paseo del Mar, by April-May 2025. This expansion contributes to consolidating Calvià as a culinary reference in Mallorca, attracting tourists seeking exclusive and high-level experiences.

For the year 2025, Calvià also has important hotel openings planned. Three new five-star hotels will be added to the area's tourist landscape, located in strategic points such as Punta Negra, Santa Ponça, and Peguera.
These new accommodations will increase the capacity to receive top-level tourists. Consolidating the high-end offerings in the municipality and attracting a visitor profile with greater economic resources.

In addition to initiatives in the hotel sector, Calvià has shown its commitment to sports and cultural tourism. At Fitur, a calendar of more than 30 events to be held in the municipality throughout the 2025 season was presented.
These events, ranging from sports competitions to cultural activities, are one of the main tools to attract tourists year-round. According to Amengual, this diversified offering will contribute to extending the tourist season and generating stable employment in the area.
The mayor also highlighted in an interview with the president of EDATV, Javier Negre, that the tourist profile is changing. "We look forward to the 2025 season with optimism, although the rise in flight prices could affect demand," Amengual assured. However, he highlighted that top-level tourism and the new visitor profile, with greater purchasing power, remain key elements.
Regarding investments, the Calvià City Council has announced a plan to renovate mature tourist areas. Among the most notable projects are the modernization of the first line of Magaluf and the Peguera boulevard. As well as a plan for the adaptation and maintenance of sidewalks and roads, with an investment of 6 million euros.
These initiatives are aligned with Calvià's commitment to offering more sustainable tourism. That preserves the natural environment while promoting sector growth.
