Madness in the United States after Wendy's latest decision: Knocks McDonald's out

Wendy's chain surprises the public with an unexpected move that could change the rules of the game

Wendy's is back in the spotlight. The well-known American chain has sparked a true revolution on social media. Their followers can't stop talking about their latest initiative, which promises to mark a turning point.

Wendy's has now decided to bring one of their most famous products directly to supermarkets. In the midst of barbecue season, their popular fresh beef burgers can now be found in stores in Ohio and Colorado. The move has surprised many and seems to be leaving giants like McDonald's without a response.

Wendy's burgers to cook at home

The novelty was discovered thanks to a post on Instagram, where fans of the chain quickly reacted with enthusiasm. For now, the burgers are only available in Kroger and King Soopers stores in the cities of Columbus and Denver. These are the same quarter-pound patties that Wendy's uses in their restaurants, known for not being frozen.

The brand has confirmed that their goal is to bring their products closer to consumers in "new and exciting" ways. Although they haven't detailed if this is a limited test, everything suggests that they are analyzing the public's response before a possible nationwide launch. The initial signs, of course, couldn't be more positive.

Each package contains four burgers and sells for nine dollars, meaning each unit costs $2.25. If you add the bun, cheese, pickles, and sauce, the final price may be higher than in the restaurant. Even so, the idea of preparing a Wendy's burger in a homemade style has won over fans.

Reactions and rivalry with McDonald's

Social media have been filled with comments celebrating this new possibility. Some users claim it's a "dream come true," while others are already organizing gatherings to try them on the grill. Wendy's decision to enter the supermarket product market seems to have hit the mark.

Meanwhile, McDonald's hasn't publicly reacted to this move. Although there are already products from the famous chain on the shelves, like their sauces or coffees, there are no ready-to-cook burgers like in Wendy's case. This has led many to see the move as a direct hit to their competitor.

For now, everything suggests that Wendy's has known how to read the right moment to innovate. The grill season is at its peak, and offering their burgers in the supermarket has been a total success. We just have to wait and see if this strategy will extend to the rest of the country... or even beyond.
