In recent years, competition in the furniture market in the United States has grown significantly, with national and international brands vying to win consumer preference. However, some companies manage to stand out more than others thanks to their ability to adapt to changes and offer products that fit well with the public's needs.

This is the case with Ikea, which continues to gain ground in the competitive U.S. market. Ikea, the Furniture Company That Is Thriving in the United States

Ikea continues its expansion in the United States, a market where competition is fierce. The Swedish firm has revealed that, during 2025, it will open eight new stores in various strategic locations.

Although the most notable aspect of this expansion is the implementation of the "Plan & Order with Pickup" model. This innovative format will allow customers to place orders online and pick them up at strategic points. Of the eight stores, seven will feature this model, thus improving the shopping experience and bringing Ikea's products closer to consumers.

This growth is part of a broader strategy supported by a significant investment. In 2023, the company allocated more than $2.2 billion to its expansion plan in the United States. Additionally, Ingka Group, Ikea's largest franchisor, will invest €3 billion in new stores and renovations in markets such as France, Canada, and Germany.

Ikea has shown a great ability to adapt to new consumption habits. Recently, the company has also successfully tested the "Plan & Order with Pickup" model in states like Texas and Maryland. This type of store allows customers to purchase products without having to navigate large warehouses, facilitating a faster and more convenient experience.

The expansion strategy is not limited to new openings. Ikea is also betting on adapting to urban life, as demonstrated by its project in Manhattan. The construction of a mixed-use shopping center will include a space dedicated to Ikea, which will offer a two-level customer service in New York.

With Ikea's 40th anniversary in the United States on the horizon, the company continues to strengthen its presence in the country. These new openings reflect the brand's commitment to offering accessible and personalized solutions to American customers. Without a doubt, Ikea continues to thrive in a highly competitive market.
