The New Registered Office of Fundación La Caixa Will Be in Barcelona
This change won't involve the relocation of staff or corporate spaces or services.
The Board of Trustees of the "la Caixa" Banking Foundation has unanimously decided, in an extraordinary session, to move the Foundation's headquarters to Barcelona, specifically to the central services of the entity located at Avenida Diagonal 621-629. Additionally, as the sole shareholder of CriteriaCaixa, it has also approved the relocation of the company's headquarters to the same city.
This decision has been made considering that the conditions that justified the temporary relocation of both headquarters to Palma in 2017 no longer exist. It is important to note that this change will not involve the transfer of personnel or corporate spaces or services, as the majority of employees and work centers have always remained in Barcelona.
More Than a Century of Social Commitment in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands
The "la Caixa" Foundation has maintained a strong connection to its origins since its creation in 1904 under the name Caja de Pensiones para la Vejez y de Ahorros de Catalonia y Baleares, thanks to the initiative of the Barcelona lawyer Francesc Moragas and the support of various Catalan civil society institutions.
From its inception, the "la Caixa" Foundation has stood out for its social commitment and its dedication to the common good, both through its financial activity and its social programs.
The Foundation also wishes to emphasize that its commitment to the Balearic Islands and the city of Palma remains strong, through the promotion of initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of the most vulnerable groups in the community. Furthermore, it highlights the importance of CaixaForum Palma, a true cultural and social center of the Foundation in the Balearic capital, where the Board of Trustees of the "la Caixa" Foundation will continue to hold its regular meetings as it has been doing until now.
